FBH - has anyone removed it & bypassed the cooling syste

My FBH has packed up for a while. I am still working on extracting the fault codes via android or considering the Hawkeye system.

Has anyone by passed the cooling system to run their D3 whilst working on the FBH out of the car or am I being silly?

Bought a U-shaped section of heater hose and 2 barbed hose connectors. Clamped-off the existing hoses, removed FBH coolant hoses and connected the new hose connectors and pipe. Removed the FBH fuse, disconnected the wiring connectors, the exhaust, the fuel line (which I plugged), FBH mountings and lifted it out. I then bled the coolant system just to be safe and was prepared to top it up (which it didn't need in the end). Wiped away the small amount of leaked coolant and shut the bonnet.

I couldn't risk my car being off the road whilst I messed with the FBH; doing it this way removed all the stress.

Thumbs Up
