I need to replace my diff it's started to whine on over run, there is a D4 on eBay
"FRONT DIFF REMOVED FROM 2011 LAND ROVER DISCOVERY IV
3.0 SDV6 WITH 9500 MILES
RATIO 3.21"
Is it the same and help much appreciated

D3 'auto' diffs are 3.54 ratio, so . . . No, not the same
The D3 manual ones are different again, but I can't remember the correct ratio, but I'm sure someone will post fairly soon 
(Which is a good reason not to buy a manual, as 2nd hand diffs are rarer than rocking horse  ) Never get mad - get even !!
06 D3 now gone to family member and still going strong at 265k

04 D2 TD5 - (clocked 189k from new)

D3 manual diff is 3.07 ratio  Dennis

I have been told by the main dealer the diff on ebay is for an 8 speed so no good for the 6 speed either
