Numerous faults... 1000 miles from home!

Hi all,

I have now had my Disco 3 for two months. From almost day one I have had the suspension fault light on. I took it back to the dealer twice and most recently they said they had "reset" the suspension and if the fault continues then it may need the compressor changing. But they said it was fine to drive it to Spain on holiday and if it needed done then they would do it on my return.

I am now in Spain and had just had the following warnings:

1. Red suspension fault, can only drive less than 30mph.

2. HDC (?) fault

3. F transmission fault, limited gears available.

4. Parkbrake fault.

5. DSC fault (exclamation mark inside triangle with circular arrow around it)

6. ABS fault.

7. The speedometer has died.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated right now, plus if anyone knows where I can get the car seen to in north west spain???? Big Cry

apologies in advance for spelling mistakes as I'm doing this in a rush.

thanks......

Could it be the brake pedal switch?

Symptoms like when mine went.

Fairly easy swap and a cheap part.

Best of luck chap.

i have had it when a fuel filter blocks it causing low fuel pressure and can cause a number of faults including gearbox going into F mode limp home mode etc does the fault clear if you cycle the ignition? is there a possibility that you have put some poor quality fuel in it.

Change the brake bulbs. Even if they are working they can still cause the issues you have. Happened To me recently and a change of bulb cured it.

I had this exactly last winter and I found it was a dodgy connection to the rear o/s wheel speed sensor. Cut the wires back (tricky in the snow outside) and made new connections and all was ok again.

Eh? Dash lit up like a Xmas tree and maybe change light bulbs to cure? Is this a real solution? Starting to get very worried about disco 3 ownership!!!!
Hope you get it fixed. Not a good start to the new year.

Twice I have had dash lit up and both times it's been the brake/rear light bulbs. The good thing is that it's an easy fix. Many others have had the same problem on here. Always carry some genuine spares

the near side rear wheel sensor generally fails, killing speedo as well as most of the faults you have except the suspension one.cost about £20 for a new one and only a single screw and a connector to separate,Wheel removal is a must .Codes being read would point to a lot of the probs and most people have one as they're especially good at pointing you at the failure rather than guessing.may have to find a dealer or use breakdown recovery back to uk if the drive to a port is too far away and a garage cannot sort it in time.
