Team "Luxury" is ready to go.
Well, car has passed scrutineering for the SLROC Mud Master competition. Only highlight is my tracking rod ends have slight play so will change them later this month. ( Yes mike )
Myself and Kev91 are i think, entering the only D3 into it. Hence Team Luxury for our unoffical name..
Loads of defenders so far, a few Land Cruisers and a Jeep.
Will be a 2 day event with a mixture of Orienteering, time trials and general auto tests. Plus you have to record numbers on cards along the routes.
Everything is points based, so wrong turns or getting things wrong will cost points.
There are also 3 members on here that are entering, 2 in defenders and one in a freeby so shall be interesting to see where we all place.
First time entering it, the D3 looked rather plain compared to all the kitted out defenders etc.
Have RLD sump guard, Duratrac's and my side step's ( Double up as rock sliders )
Shall stick up pictures tomorrow to show how i get on.In loving memory of FA54WSK.
Rest well old friend, your work is done.

Today was really exhausting, left home at 6 and just in about 9, it was around 100 miles of competition course, many off road and trials sections. Alan looked like he fully participated, he has a few photos.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Just back home, Im shattered!
Glad to report, the mighty D3 did every trial, test etc. I cleared all the off road sections with a clean sheet. Some minor underside scraping was heard...
Damage report is, few scratches on the bodywork from trees etc. My RLD sump guard may have lost some powder coating. The fuel tank to a rather painful looking hit, but it's not leaking, just has a dent in it.
Other chassis scrapes etc.
By lunch i was sitting 25th, out of over 40 or so. However as the light faded, we got lost in both forest sections which cost us time. Also a small matter of a marshal going away but claiming he didn't.. That is getting contested.
Did the auto route in a time of 1min 17 seconds. Could have gone faster but the heavy right foot of ignorance got in the way...
Few pictures of the day. There are videos that other members have taken so will get them up when i can.
