Yellow Suspension Light, Suspension Fault and Adaptive Flash
Hi All,
I know that this is a tall shot but I jumped in to my trusty D3 to take the family to Christmas Dinner 20 miles away and I got 'Suspension Fault' in the message centre, Yellow Suspension light and the adaptive lights light flashing rapidly.
It has no issue with speed (not in limp mode) and I did the 40 mile round trip with out any issues, we are going back again later this evening - would it be wise to try and squeeze 4 adults in a polo or continue in the disco?
It is still happy to go in to access mode and off road height.
I'll be trying to get the codes read tomorrow or Friday but for a short term fix and advise I'll be most grateful.
Hope you're all having a good day,
Cheers

Thanks for the reply. On the return leg of this evenings journey I started it up and the only light on the dash was the full beam light... No issues at all on the way home.
I'm still going to see if the codes are still there in the morning hopefully but not as much panic now!26 and on the 4th LR..

An update on this,
I managed about 100 miles completely trouble free with no dash lights or anything until today where I got the red light and max 30mph and on the bump stops. I was on my way in to town and was worried that stopping and restarting may not work so continued in to town very slowly and very bumpy and parked, stopped and restarted and I got the orange light and it was okay. I called the aa who came out and did sweet fa as his diagnostics wouldn't connect. I set off to drive home and it was okay until I stopped and after that I got the red light twice so I pulled over and restarted and it was okay. After that I made it 20 miles home.
I read and cleared the faults this evening -
U0421
U0132
Both seem to be communication errors. After clearing I got both orange and red faults a couple of times in 5 miles drive and I record for codes and nothing.
I also was viewing live data while driving and when either red or yellow came up nothing was dropping out or failing
I'm very confused now! I was hoping to get a height sensor fault and an easy repair.
While I was reading the codes I noticed my lights were constantly going up and down even though I was sat still and the vehicle didn't seem to be moving.
Any ideas?
Cheers

A "U" code is a comms error. Very unlikely there is a genuine comms error between the IPC and Suspension module.
You will need to scan the rest of the car for codes, and post them up.
The D3 is very sensitive to its issues, and your suspension fault may actually be caused by a fault in a different module My D3 Build Thread

Ah right. I have only got my hands on a snap on ethos (one step up from the aa system!)
I'm just taking the plunge to order a faultmate so will get the rest of the codes then!
Shame about bloody new year and Xmas. Probably won't see it for a month!26 and on the 4th LR..

The only other thing is all this started off on Wednesday and the Sunday before I installed my disco4 lights (Xmas pressie to self). Would it be worth me swapping them back?
They are working fine but best start at the basics!!26 and on the 4th LR..

Its unlikely, but the D3 can be an odd car at times.

I'm no expert and you've already got advice from more knowledgeable bods than me, but when you mentioned changing lights the 'brake light bulb' alarm bell started ringing - was it the rear lights and did you change the bulbs at the same time?

Cheers for the advise. I'm still to get the faults successfully from all modules!
However I had a break through today,
I changed the rear wishbones two weeks ago and it would appear I caught the ride height sensor cable and damaged it and it had corroded already!! Must be the salt on the roads. I cleaned up the cut, stripped it back, soldered it, crimped it and sealed the back of it with silicon! Hopefully this will hold out.
I drove 50 miles since then without a single issue so touch wood all okay now.26 and on the 4th LR..
