295/45R20 vs 285/50R20

Any comments from people who experienced this kind of tyres?

The alloys i have, 20 X 9.5 range rover, style 3

In the Wiki section, under wheels and tyres, there is refrence to the suitable 20' tyres for the D3.

Is it only those that MUST be used? OR a different make BUT simirar size and weight rating tyres can also be used?

THANK YOU

its just a guide on sizes, it doesnt really matter whose make.

I took 295/45x20's off mine, as on uneven tarmac, the wider width of tread was pulling the car around too much.

Also, 295 and 285 foul the chassis on post 07 D3's if you dont fit spacers.

al cope,

thank you for your repsone

i am really lost and dont know how to proceed.
my d3 is post 07, so it will be ok if i use the 285/50/20 i assume

the wider option of 295 is off then, thank you for the advise.

another option is to go the expensive route, Replacing my alloys to 19' ones!!!

btw, 285/50/20 is not a very popular tyre, thats why many manufacturers do not have such size.

I think you are OK with 285/50, but not sure if it needs spacers or lockstops fitting (it will need one of these options on a post 07)

One of the chaps who run with 285/50's will hopefully add to this thread with the correct info in a while.

some 285/50s on ebay here in the UK:
