| Cam Belt Service at 105,000 Miles |

Hi all,
I have a 56 plate Disco 3, fast approaching this landmark service.
Can anyone help me with a reputable establishment that could do this service for me in or around the Huddersfield, Halifax, Oldham areas?
As many of us are, I'm trying to conserve cash and would prefer not to use a main dealer, simply due to costs.

I've just contacted Green Oval and spoken to a very helpful chap named Brian. The cost with all the tensioners is £475 plus VAT. Now booked in for early January. Thanks

Interested to know if that's for the belts and the service? I am planning a trip oop north and Halifax is my old stomping ground almost. And a review of your experience?

Halifax is also my old stomping ground!
I booked the job today and it's for the two belts and all the tensioners and not the full service. £475 is for the labour and all genuine LR parts and then there is the dreaded VAT. I'd did ask Brian if there was anything else that could be done whilst the cam belts were being replaced and he said that I could consider replacing the oil pump, but it isn't a critical item at the 105k
I've been searching around for someone to do this job for a while and spoken to a few establishments, who shall we say have left me wondering about their abilities. They've not been shy on pricing either!
Brian at Green Oval was on the ball with what I wanted and said that they'd also check for other issues, such as leaking seals etc. that could be done whilst replacing the cam belts. (He'd ask my permission before doing anything else).
They've also offered a courtesy car as part of the service, this would have to be on my insurance, but overall they have impressed me with their knowledge and customer service so far.
This job is too big for my usual garage and they say it seems a good price for the work.
I'll let you know how I get on.

Nice one. I'll see how you feel after the job's done. I have an Indy locally in Devon that I suspect is more expensive.
I wondered about my own oil pump casing as my model seems to be in the worrisome bracket of failures. I may get that done when it comes to the time. I don't know whether yours is that 'Age' but you can check you chassis number if you haven't already.

Just to let you all know...... Green Oval in Leeds did the job for me. Excellent service from the team there and a good price as well, less than £600.
I booked it in with Brian, who is very knowledgable and only sold me what I needed, unlike the main dealer and another none franchise outlet who were going to relieve me of the best part of £1500.
The Disco was dropped off first thing in the morning and was turned around in the day. They also offer the use of a courtesy car (albeit you have to insure it) if required.
Overall, excellent service and I would recommend Green Oval for this job.
