I can see what your saying, I would have to find the money if necessary but don't know how many people driving d3's could just lay out £9k if their engine failed. That was just an example, I think the warranty will come in handy for smaller jobs aswell.
Just had a replacement enging from LR Bill was £9680 all in cost me £4k

Thanks all. Been speaking to WD and have been offered a 25 month deal with the ExtraCare package, plus emmissions & MOT failure repairs for £988, which seems good value compared to LR's £780 with no wear/tear cover.
Seems a no brainer really???

I went down the same route and ended up buying the exact same policy but when the docs arrived I had a really careful read and there appeared to be an awful lot of ways in which a claim may not be paid...rang them and cancelled it... I can see why they include the various "exclusions" but on balance I thought it would be more sensible for me to just save up the premiums, use a forum mechanic for the servicing, do as much preventative maintenance as possible and learn how to do some stuff myself. I guess the car is more than just a mode of transport and more of a "hobby" so I am interested in getting my hands dirty. I am retired and if it breaks down it is not a catastrophe and I can take some time to get it fixed - if I depended on it every day then the warranty would be much more valuable to me....and probably worth while.2007 Base D3 - Buckingham Blue
