Look what the postie just delivered....
That's tomorrow's job sorted then.....
Spent a while yesterday on prep as they were pretty bad....
2 washes with a strong solution of Viro-sol....got all the oil grease and road grime off, then a dousing in Iron-X to finish off....probably a bit OTT but as they're my off road set I wanted to get them as clean as possible before starting...

You really do need to make sure they are clean or the plasti dip will not stick properly.
I did 4 coats on mine and they came up really good.
People tell me my car at 3L is not good for the environment but the other 6 engines I look after are 78L and nobody complains about them.

Matt black ....noticed quite a few 'nicks' that I hadn't seen before....the theory is to give the face of the alloy a bit more protection from small stones pinging (think BreastHigh Road)...and any marks should be easily covered up with a quick spray afterwards......well that's the theory anyway "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

I never used primer and even in the videos it doesn't show them using a primer.People tell me my car at 3L is not good for the environment but the other 6 engines I look after are 78L and nobody complains about them.

It works fine without primer and if you know you want to peel it off, then that's perfect. but if you want a more resistant finish, then the primer helps it adhere for longer. You don't 'have' to use it, but it does stick better if you do. Bodsys Brake Bible

All done, and I'm very pleased with the results...
Decided to compare results of the 2 methods suggested, which is mask off the tyre using card,or just overspray the tyre and peel off the excess...
Would recommend the card method...bit of a fiddle to start but the results were better as peeling off the excess started to remove some from the wheel face....
After one coat
Peeling off the overspray ....
And the final result...
Tbh,if you don't go mad you could probably leave the overspray on the tyre...
