Stuart,I had the steps on the 3 also, but decided to go for these this time round.....I had aftermarket steps before, and so cant comment on the LR ones (although I'm led to believe they are no different) the side bars feel more substantial imho....
I also liked the fact they are adjustable, and you don't need to cut the sill to fit them HTH Thumbs Up
"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

D3 Java 2005 SE manual (sold, sadly, thanks for the memories)

Thinking about changing my steps for tube like these, will the cut outs on the plastic trim underneath be different?

I feel ya pain Alan but I blame it on Euan Rolling Eyes

Mine are sat in my car at the moment and look really good for the money I paid for them Thumbs Up
Hopefully I'm going to attempt mine tomorrow but it's looking likely I will need new sill trims but I will do those at a later stage if need be

Is there going to be a sudden flood of used OE steps for sale on here soon? Laughing

Thanks Euan - think I'll cancel the LR side steps and spend the money on something else (for the D4 of course)

Kin ell
Just done one side....

all six nuts holding the tread plate onto the OE brackets sheared off, good for me but not good for resale Big Cry
brackets came off vehicle ok and plugged holes with silicone sealant,
fitting new hardware is a piece of peepee, apart from front chassis bolt needs a breaker bar
cup of coffee then t'other side...

new sill trims needed but no major rush as cutouts are not ovious

old cut out ones will be for sale with steps soon...

Youve just reminded me,I sheared a bolt off the tubes while trying to take them off too quickly before going green laning in Cumbria last month Censored
If its not too late can you tell me what size they are please...save me trying to take another one off Rolling Eyes
Cheers

Do you mean the ones with the tab thAt go in the chassis

Or the big ones that bolt the tubes onto the brackets?

Had a setback on driver side rear bracket, the hole in the chassis is missing for the upper bolt

Got a bit dark n cold to wop out my drill so it's tied to chassis with 3mm copper wire (just I case it gets stepped on) lower bolt is ok.

Or I might got my Indy to touch it with the welder

Eaun I will measure the threads when it's daylight bud.

As you can see.... Light was fading by the time I started os

They are in line with the outside of the tyre

They are adjustable a bit, but I've pushed mine in (I line with tyre)
Getting in and out is easier for me as I don't cAtch my leg anymore and dirty my (dirty) trousers
