Have to say there were two or three times last winter when it was smoking badly now it seems there must be a tech problem.

Good spot DG. I must say though, I can't remember mine smoking at all in the brief couple of weeks it was cold enough to fire it.

Didn't see smoke on the D3 or 4....and both fired and ran perfectly...I still put it down to regular use of Redex or Millers regardless of what the heretics say Whistle

You can hear it Thumbs Up ......
If you have the remote, the little green button blinks during the cycle.....

or if you stupidly touch the actual heater unit, ignoring the warning graphic, you will burn your fingers Embarassed

I don't know if it's actually enabled on this car and I don't have a remote.

The Indie guys I use tell me it's a waste of time, won't heat up the inside of the car and does virtually nothing anyway but I might get them to enable it so I can see for myself...... Whistle

All uk spec cars have an FBH....it's just the remote timer element of it that's optional or needs to be retro-fitted
Sounds like yours needs purged Thumbs Up ....oh and ignore your Indie....it does make a difference Thumbs Up

Just been on Topix and saw this code against my vehicle but would not let me read the link so did a search on google and ended up here Rolling Eyes

My current RRS has the timed climate with FBH and used it for the first time last night sat outside Doctors waiting for SWMBO - Formula 1 on car TV and lovely hot air pouring out of the vents - life doesn't get much better than this Laughing

Downside - after 15 minutes warning came on to start engine or shutting down due to low battery - good job I did the CTEK GB Thud

Now decided to add the remote I'm so impressed - never noticed it is on my last RRS but did not have timed climate Confused

I used my remote the other morning, gave it 20 minutes before driving to work, it was defrosted and warm air coming out of the vents Thumbs Up

As soon as I started the main engine, the vents started to blow a bit colder, and the temp guage was at the bottom, but it very quickly warmed up.

Added luxury of heated seat and steering wheel made it a very comfortable start to a cold day.

Then I made the mistake of telling SWMBO how good it all was. Now I have to drive the Defender Big Cry

I have just had this service action carried out.

Also they replaced the battery, as I have been getting a few "Special Programs Off" messages on starting recently, and Low Battery warnings on the nav screen.

Whilst I have never seen excessive smoke from the FBH, I notice it now kicks in when the temp is up to 7 degrees outside. It also seems noisier than I remember.
