Disco 3 dash cracks

Just curious to see how many people out there have a cracked front dash. Mine has spiderweb shapes around the front defrost vents, and passenger airbag cover. Thanks!

From what I understand, it's fairly common for those in very sunny/hot climates. I picked my LR3 up from a couple in South Carolina... hence the reason my dash is split all around the passenger airbag cover. Of all the problems that seem to exist for these cars, I personally think that this should be one of the most embarrasing for Land Rover considering it was a $55,000 car. Confused

Agreed. I think it is a lot more prevalent than most let on. I spoke with a service manager at LR Buckhead (Georgia) and he said they had only replaced one on an '06, and that the dealer didn't replace the VIN plate even though it is made too be destroyed when the dash is removed. They quoted me $2,100 to replace the dash. I have been in contact with LR North America to see what options I have even though the vehicle is out of warranty. I currently have multiple Rovers and have never had a problem like this but it seems as though the materials used do not pass muster. We'll see what happens, but I'd sooner take the vehicle to an upholstry shop and have it sealed and covered in leather for $500, than pay over two grand to put on a part that is destined to crack again. Maybe LRNA will come through and help out. For a dedicated Rover enthusiast, I think it's warranted--maybe not waranteed lol

Mine has two very fine cracks; one down either side of the front pasenger airbag.

Randomly, on the properly hot days (of which there are a few out here) the material swells slightly and seals the cracks so I can't see them Very Happy

Have the same problem with mine. I just purchased a dash mat off fleabay to hide the crack. It's occasionally hot over here as well Whistle
