Warning about height restriction - Premier Inn Car Park
Stayed at Premier Inn, Oxford St, Newcastle on Sunday night and parked in car park next door. There is a metal height guard restricting high vehicles, signed 6 feet or 1.8m (yes I know the Disco is 1.87 when locked down in access height) but have stayed there before with D3 without any problem.
The guard is metal but hinged so there is some give but with the D4 locked down still scraped the roof rails slightly. D3 was on 18" wheels but D4 is on 19" wheels which may explain the difference but tyres should compensate for different wheel size.
Additionally the parking jobsworth is red hot at giving out tickets for being over the bay markings which is difficult to avoid in the spaces designed for minis!Jeff

Thank you for your kind words chaps but as I stated I had been in there before in the D3 which also has a lock down height of 1.87. No trouble on Eurotunnel train either which puts a 1.8 height restriction. 6' =1.83m.Jeff

The 18" refers to the hole in the middle of the tyre, the thickness of the tyre differs on 18" and 19" so the overall diameter is the same.DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone

Even at 2m it's not guaranteed
I went into a carpark in reading several years ago marked at 2m with d3 and front runner rack so just under?
However, the fire sprinkler must have been less than that
I did get a free car wash though! Duncan

I drove my truck into the local Tesco filling station (it's 12ft 9 inch) sign said 13ft 6 - knocked the security camera off! Think they did the measurement then installed the cameras. I pointed this out to the staff who didn't seem to care 2 years later & nothing been done about it.
