Discovery 3 EGR Blanking / ECG
I've purchased the EGR Valve blanking kit (not arrived yet), but before I set about installing it do I need to be able to re-map the ECG to remove the EGR function?
I think I have the ability to install the blanking kit but I definitely won't be able to mess about with the engine management system!!
I don't want to fix one problem & create another further down the line....
Any help would be appreciated - Thanks!

On an 06MY, you can fit the blanks, with no issues to the engine management side of things My D3 Build Thread

simple basic blanking
If it's the basic kit you have ordered not the pipe removal kit then this may help it certainly avoids some of the risk of loosing bolts and alignment mod the plates so it is self explanatory when you start the job.

hi
it depends on the age of the vehicle on my 08.5MY i would have to do something to fool the Engine management system that everything was ok. earlier cars you simply blank off. so depends on the age of the carPrince Harry's D3: G4 factory equipped D3 - expo rack, winch, roof lights, ladder, active locking rear diff, RAI, Melville & Moon seat covers, General Grabber ATs/ Goodyear Duratrac

You can tell which engine revision you have from the VIN (see the wiki). Basically, if the motor is non-euro IV, then you can blank it without worrying about the electrickery.

Thanks guys, great help!
My vehicle is an 06 Discovery 3 TDV6. I've checked the VIN as you recommended so I won't be needing to tamper with the management system.
Thanks again
