D3 air con fan problem need to locate relay

Have looked at previous posts, my fan isn,t working.
Fuse seems okay and have tried the reset suggested elsewhere.
Could someone advise where the relay is and which is a suitable relay to swop it with
Thanks

If you've already tried the Hard Reset, I'd be going for getting the codes read.

Aircon at this time of the year?!!!

I didn't think it used the fan unless it needed to? So only when it is working at full?

Which fan are we talking about here?

The condenser uses the viscous fan to increase heat transfer if needed - normally only in the summer and in traffic.

The only other fan I can think of is the one that you control with the dial on the dash (Or auto!) - that is variable speed so if that's not working, then it could be the controller that has gone?

Hi Angle fire,

I think the one in question is the electric one that is behind the aircon radiator if the viscus one isn't doing enough...

Talking about the one controlled by the dial on the dash.

Bit of a drama yesterday, went into town and while wife went into a shop I tried the reset thing again, nothing happened but then the radio showed low voltage. Tried to start car and it was completely dead. Guy came out and started it with booster pack. Brought it home and stuck battery charger on it and its starting ok this morning.

Fan still not working though.

AH...makes sense... If you take a look here http://lrparts.net.ru/ select the disco 3 / electrical / 41201 you will see there are many parts to the heater !!
As Angelfire says...could be the controller rather than the motor Thumbs Up
 Cheers Ian

If the voltage is low the D3 turns off a bunch of systems to preserve power - so rule out the battery/alternator first.

The HEVAC fan speed is controlled by a module, they can and do fail but are easy to replace.

But I would start with the relay in the battery junction box, so swap it with a different one once you have confirmed that the power is ok.

Heater fan problem appears to be resistor

Following on from my previous post.

http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic103207.html

Alternator required replacement and as I was away this week got local garage to sort it.

Asked them to have a look at blower fan and apparently its the heater fan resistor that needs changed
Think part no is LR031677

This was a common problem on l322 range rovers, the blowers would fluctuate, it's the resistive that causes it as you say, people call then hedgehogs.
