The 3.0 litre V6 block is particularly porous and as a result oil use in the early days can be quite high.
Cigarette lighter will work in aux power sockets.

My D3 used a lot first up and virtually nothing since. Porous block not unusual and the oil level gauge is not a very reliable means of checking level. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

I've clocked 7K in 3 months of ownership and just topped up 800ml of 5W-30. It's not blowing blue smoke(except a tiny bit at start-up) and pulls like a train with the camper on. very happy.
I do use 2 stroke in the fuel. maybe that accounts for the blueish smoke?

Have you had the dealer do the turbo drain pipe mod?“There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€
