new D4 oil usage

only done 1350 miles since new...noticed the oil is down a tad...is this normal with the running in of the engine..
also will the auxillary power sockets support a cigarette lighter ??????///

The 3.0 litre V6 block is particularly porous and as a result oil use in the early days can be quite high.
Cigarette lighter will work in aux power sockets.

thanks.....that appears a little weird that the block drinks it...i thought it was being burnt off ,while the rings etc bed in

My D3 used a lot first up and virtually nothing since. Porous block not unusual and the oil level gauge is not a very reliable means of checking level. Rolling Eyes

I've clocked 7K in 3 months of ownership and just topped up 800ml of 5W-30. It's not blowing blue smoke(except a tiny bit at start-up) and pulls like a train with the camper on. very happy.
I do use 2 stroke in the fuel. maybe that accounts for the blueish smoke?
