If you've got an idog&bone the free RoadTrip app is great for keeping track of such things. My record shows how variable mpg can be.

thanks, I'll have a look at that.
Think the wheel may be a culprit. Thinking about getting the silicon hoses anyway sound like they should be more reliable and if they do help the MPG (although I cant see that they will unless the old ones are knackered?) then that's a bonus Just 'cos your paranoid, it doesn't mean they're not out to get you!

Mine does 60ish mile on 15 litres of fuel tdv6. 3 miles cold to nursary. Then 15 to work and back per day. Heavy traffic in the morning. I think the fbh has been coming on recently causing it to be slightly worse. I think this is reasonable considering size and weight . If no traffic I can get 25mpg

do the re map tuning etc drop MPG
Any ideas wether the remapping and tuning drop MPG ??
I filled up (well until it got to £110 and stopped ) in preparation for a trip to Carnoustie and managed over 500 miles mostly mway at 60+ .....
So MPG probably around 27.5 ....
So if I spend to improve speed/performance through the gears .... will it then drop MPG ..... if they dont improve MPG..... seems bizarre ...
Thanks

Every auto logic remap I have done on a TDV6 and TDV* the customers have reported increases in MPG returned afterwards when driven sensibly. The problem with giving someone more power is they tend to use it and your economy wont change if you drive with a lead boot!

I have superchips Bluefin map. They guaranteed it gave better economy but mine had remained similar (slightly higher though). I then drove sensibly and compared it to the best figures I had previously and it was lower with the map. I just drive it as I feel like but it is great to use the extra when needed and just for fun. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

I had a remap on my 2000 v70 2.5tdi. Standard 140hp
Rolling road 196hp and lots more lb ft. 33mpg traffic round town. 45mpg motorway at 70. Basically the car ran a lot better and much more responsive. But it's just down to the way you drive. If you go light footed you get a good return on mpg even without a remap. My remap claimed more mpg but it stayed exactly the same. Now I know this I wouldn't get a remap on my disco for more mpg. Power defiantly although I'm not getting a remap on mine. I don't trust the auto box. Haha
