| Discount on new Discovery 4 |

Hello, I recently ordered a new Disco4 HSE Luxury Model Year 2014 and got a discount off the list price of a bit more than 5% by the dealer. On the continent some brands offer currently much bigger discounts, however, the UK car market is doing well right now and Rover in particular plus it is at the very beginning of the new MY14 model cycle. I had called a few other dealers before and the majority did not want to give any discount at all. Two were willing without much fuzz to give around 5%. My feeling is that if I really had shopped around more and/or had applied more pressure more than 5% should have been feasible. What is your experience in this respect?

Think we ended up at 9% on my recently ordered Commercial...
Left the dealer feeling dejected and slightly 
I feel their pain... Not! D4 Commercial - 65 Plate, 2016MY
D5 Commercial - Handed back when I left that job…
D4 Commercial (2014MY) - gone
D4 Commercial SDV6 - Baltic Blue (also gone)
D1 300TDi... 2" lift, HD bumpers (both), detachable tow hitch, 9,500lb winch, 235/85/16 muds and plenty of other toys (gone to make way for the next toy...)
Smiles per Mile - Tornado Motorsports caged Evo 3... 100" Defender look-alike, with Range Rover running gear - all fully IVA'd and registered!

Given that waiting lists for build to order Land Rover and Range Rover models are increasing almost by the day I think getting much over 5% discount is probably unrealistic. Of course, take an already built vehicle that is sitting unsold in the showroom and you might get lucky on a bigger discount, particularly near the end of the month or quarter when the Dealer needs another sale to hit a target.

Hi SEKMXN - I'm looking for a similar car - would you be kind enough to let me know which dealer you bought from? Also anyone hearing of any current model Luxury models sitting in showrooms looking for a buyer with a big discount attached?

Hi Craig, it would probably not be fair towards the dealer if I give his name away, especially on such a public forum. But if you put your email on here, I can give you three dealers' names and at least one of them should give you this discount. Is that ok?
