Three days ago - Disco 2 goes down the flooded river. It was submerged about 10 feet. Driver luckily gets out when it fully submerged. I witness it in my Defender, also pulling him out of the river. Horrifying. Yesterday the river had subsided to what you see. We went back in my G4. Took about 4 hours to get it out. Thanks go out to all who did their bit to assist. The G4 was anchored to a Transit van to stop it being pulled down the river. Mega amounts of winch ropes, strops and tow ropes were utilised to get the reach. Also had to utilise a pulley block to get enough power to pull the stricken car against the water flow. Apart from a bad stomach due to swallowing the river water, the Disco 2 driver is unhurt. More than can be said for his car!

There were no height markers for the depth. You have to steer right in the ford. This couldn't be seen in the flood. He dropped of the near side edge. The rest you can imagine.

A good rescue but the driver got imho, very lucky.
That could have been a different outcome for him.
A good reminder that water is not to be messed with.In loving memory of FA54WSK.
