EGR valves.

Bunged a bottle of injector cleaner in the tank today, see if that helps. Has anyone used "Wynn's Diesel EGR 3" on their Disco?
Engine light still off, fingers crossed.

I'm sufficiently convinced by the argument for two-stroke oil, to have used that for the last 9 months. I like the sound of less carbon in my engine, turbo, around the glow plugs, and a hopeful longer life for the high pressure fuel pump, injectors etc.

Yes, had the engine management light come on the other day so trying everything to not have to change out the EGR's.
I read about the use of two stroke oil in a Landrover Mag. and the overly refind diesel not lubricating fuel pump and injectors. I have dosed the tank once at a rate of 200:1.
What mix do you use and how often?

Yes I dose at 1:200, which seems to be the accepted ratio. 5mls per litre of diesel. Just remember not to use synthetic 2sO!

To be honest, I'd blank your EGRs ASAP if you can. Not sure 2sO will cure the problem.

I used the Bell Auto Services kit. Widely recommended on here. Had no problems since. Doesn't stop the fault codes, but engine runs great Thumbs Up

I'd love to blank the EGR's, I've been informed by other members on here that post 07 Disco's are still waiting for a kit to do the job, apparently the EM light stays on and that's supposed to be an MOT fail.
I'm always open to suggestions and welcome any input, especially when it comes to getting rid of those pesky EGR's.
I've loads of Mercury (outboard) two stroke and will start dosing. How often do you dose.

Here's the relevant thread:-

http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic83987.h...two+stroke

Mineral JASO FC is the most commonly available.

Most people use a 1:200 ratio, so 425 ml for a full tank I. I tend to work on 500 ml for a full tank & pro ratia.

Fully synthetic 2sO does not burn ashfree and as such is not suitable for vehicles with DPF.
This is aside from the fact that it is substantially more expensive than normal mineral or
semi-synthetic 2sO conforming to JASO-FC
