CTEK charging with dual batteries |
|
QQ as I can't seem to find the answer by searching......
I now have a Ctek mxs10 thanks to the group buy by rockcrawler
Wondering how the Ctec should be used to charge my car, as I have a dual battery rig with a Yellow top fitted, fed by an intelligent relay.
I realise I can manually isolate the main veh battery from my Yellow top but what do others do ?
Cheers

By no means an expert on this but took advice and I have used the CTEK MSX 10 from rockcrawler via a Martin tow electrics connector and the comfort lead, both worked fine.
I have the traxide dual battery system with a Optima as the 2nd battery. It charges both perfectly left as they are and not disconnected. It took a bit longer on first charge but obviously doing both at the same time?
More educated and more proficient will be along soon I am sure to confirm

Watching with interest, I'm no expert but, charging two different size and type of batteries in the typical D3 dual battery setup, would that not cause issues? A few mods... and keeping it all running...Faultmate MSV2

I would think the relay would just think the source was the alternator over 12.5V and would close.
There is no way the relay can tell is the CTEK and not the alternator 2005 SE Manual Cairns Blue

All good points but I would prefer confirmation from a Ctek representative(not forgetting it is the worlds smartest charger of lead acid batteries)@ Rockcrawler could you ask at the seller of the year award A few mods... and keeping it all running...Faultmate MSV2

No problems here for 4 years.
Mind you dual battery setup and still having to charge up now and then kind of defeats the object IMOH
