I have sealed bigger holes than that using Bikeseal, the stuff is amazing, the only thing is that the hole maybe to close to the sidewall, but if it isn't bikeseal would fix it.

Take it to a decent independent fitter (preferably one that deals in truck tyres) and take their advice on a vulcanised plug. I had a similar a few years back, lasted nearly 3 years and 2 MOTs before I replaced it due to normal wear - cost about £30, though it was sent away and I had to wait few days for it.Now Golf GTI PP, 7 speed DSG.

It actually looks like a Land Rover screw, had any work done or been to a LR dealership?

look for somewhere that does hot vulcanising......I had one done which lasted for around 20k miles until worn out. As said before, more likely to be a local truck/commercial company and was £25.Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Have tyre repairs changed or something?
When I had a screw removed the fitter drilled the tyre and pulled an oversize rubber plug through the hole, trimmed it on the outside, job done.
Why would it need hot vulcanising?

because its quite close to the shoulder - a patch/plug is OK when the internal patch can sit flat against the rubber, on (or close to) the shoulder (in general) it cant.

Puncture location
British Standard BSAU159 also defines the requirements for safe minor car tyre puncture repair and its proximity to the sidewall. To remain compliant, we are only able to carry out tyre repairs to the central ¾ of the tyre (known as the minor repair area). If the puncture is situated outside of this area it is deemed too close to the sidewall to guarantee a safe and lasting minor repair.

^ Interesting information.
Assume a vulcanised plug constitutes a major repair?
