Tax your Car, don't wait for the end of the month!!
For all you March car owners
Just taxed mine online today as my tax runs out at the end of the month.
Hopefully beat the system there.

Did mine on Friday, again hopefully beating any rises for this budget. If you still have tax to run, you could retax it early & claim a refund off the remainder (you'd pay twice for march so the gamble is that the rise is more than £18 ).
Another thing to note - don't leave it too late thinking you can renew online. If your insurance renewal co-incides with your car tax, as mine did, you may not be able to renew online or on the phone.
Although I have renewed my policy with the same insurance company and I have the new cover note, both the online tax system and the telephone service said they "could not locate" my new insurance details on the insurance database and I would need to renew in person. So a trip to the local post office and a 20 min queue was needed.

When the tax does go up they will back date it so you can not get out of it by cashing it in and re taxing your car depending on when they set the date from. 2006 TDV6 S Auto, Buckingham Blue, for the wife and kids.
2013 BMW 535d M sport touring.

Hi
To put things in perspective...
Here are the numbers for buying and owning a D3 here in Denmark:
A cargo converted (2 seats) D3 costs raw price + £5500 tax + 25% VAT
A 5/7 seater D3 costs raw price + 180% tax + 25% VAT
Yearly owners tax is close to £1000
