'Hard Wired' sound input from aftermarket DVD player? |
|
As per my previous thread. I have bought an alpine DVD player and have the alpine screens installed in the headrests.
The next step is wiring the whole lot in. I'm still unclear on where to take IGN live and PERM live from but that should be simple enough. The only problem I can forsee is getting the sound from the dvd player into the cars sound system. The dvd player manual states that it has 'Dolby Digital' and 'DTS 2.0+ digital out'.
The way I see it I can use 1:The optical output, 2:The RCA outputs, or 3: the Ai-Net Connector from the DVD player. I'm sceptical about using the 3.5mm aux jack socket when the LOGIC7 system is there, as it wouldn't take advantage of possible surround system effects (I assume I can somehow use the LOGIC7 system in this way?).
Can anyone advise the best way to input sound into the cars sound sytem? Is the aux socket the only option? I'm beginning to think I may need the RSE module etc. and have do it the hard way.
Thanks in advance, Liam

Looking at the Oem stuff it would seem the the 13 pin connectors on the rse module would scupper the use of the alpine DVD changer that ive got. I'm hoping I can connect the toslink optical output to the HK amp under the drivers seat. Just need the system to look for the signal
