Just tried to apply the EPB but it has failed, but not in the normal way!
Lift the button up to apply, and it starts to sing.....but, it then carries on and I can hear the motor winding then it sings some more, motor winds a bit then sings some more....does it about 5 times, then stops in the Off position.
The red parking light is flashing, but the orange one hasn't come on.
Anyone come across this one before? Or know what the f k it's doing?
I only adjusted it and fitted new discs about 3 weeks ago!
Cheers! 2014 D4 XS

I had one with the same fault and the fault code was Electric Motor failure sometimes it would screech only once others it would screech 3 or 4 times with a red warning on the dash.

Fault code is C1A53 "Parking brake emergency release has been operated"
It feels like it has on the pull cable as it doesn't clonk like it does when the brake jams on, and as I say, the brakes aren't jammed.

Had a similar fault last month. Screeching then trying again screeching. Flashing red light only. Same "emergency releas pulled" code even though it hadn't. Turned out one of the shoe retaining springs had broken & confused it.
Hope you get sorted

As flack has said I've had this issue turn out to be EPB module failure in the past, what a bloody racket they make! definitely worth opening to make sure it's not jammed though

That's the first thing I would do is check the integrity of the shoes and all associated parts on both sides.

Well it's not the friction end, all springs present and correct, I've adjusted it all and it's still the same.
Best get the module apart at the weekend then! 2014 D4 XS

No good, can't even get to the b d thing to get all the screws out while laid on my back, tried removing it from the mounting plate, made no difference, tried removing the mounting plate and sheared two bolts off
knows why they didn't mount it the other way so you could sit in the spare wheel well and work on it
Off to my Indy it goes! Been a while since I've had a £1000 bill, 2014 D4 XS

Surprised that europart is selling it, same brand as supplied by TLO? A few mods... and keeping it all running...Faultmate MSV2
