Hi guys, can anybody recommend a decent warranty for my D3? I have had some correspondence with Warrantywise, but I'm very wary of celebrity front men. Your thoughts please. Thanks Regards Tony

Much better out there than warrantywise, much better. Have a look at the Fin & Ins section, lots of debate.

Just been quoted online by Warranty Direct £954.69 for 1 years cover on my 2006 TDv6 HSE with 54000 on the clock, is this about right or a bit excessive??? Probably best to ring them and talk to a human? Regards Tony

Hi Tonywolf,
I got quoted £650 which included a discount because I belonged to a forum from warranty direct mine is a 56' plate on 88k. I was a bit put off by the decreasing payout to age and mileage. If I was to get a problem I would only qualify for approx 50% coverage of the costs. So read carefully. Worth calling them because they originally quoted me about £800 but a few days later called and offered me the reduced rate!
I suppose it depends on the mileage you will do etc to if it is worth the outlay and risk ! Steveo

I've just taken out a years warranty with them for £720, mine is a 2006 with 62000 on the clock and that's with the betterment clause removed and it includes airbags and emissions.

Have a look here
It seems Warranty Direct will usually remove the sliding scale, they have for quite a few of us on here. Mods:

Been with WD for two years and just tried to claim for a boot latch, I am still fighting them, great sales dept, not happy with claims I will be leaving if and when I get my latch paid for, not what I expected as they sem to get reasonable feedback on the forum.

What cover do you have with warranty direct? I have Luxury care and had mine paid for.
People need to understand that there are different levels of cover with warranty direct and you get what you pay for, not saying you don't have cover or not as I only have the Luxury care schedule, but from what I remember Luxury care covers everything except about a dozen things they name and their other policy covers a huge list but nothing not on the list.
Anyway good luck

I have the same Luxury cover, first thing I was told when I enquired about the latch........We do not cover diagnostics and there will be a £50 excess...........Ah customer care
You have had the best part of £1500 quid out of me and I enquire about a 63 quid latch.

Excess of £50 is standard and clear in the schedule, all reasonable costs for exploratory work is covered if they accept the claim, I think my latch bill was over £300 so you may get a surprise.

There seems to be a bit about warranty direct on here at the minute. Just a thought but is it worth starting a Thread "Warranty Direct Claims" where people can put what they have claimed for, level of cover, problem claims etc. It might be useful to have all the info in one thread which can be updated each time somebody claims. I saw a thread the other day with regards to WD not wanting to pay out for broken glow plugs but the claimant argued his point and got them to cover the claim. This sort of info could be valuable to those that have WD cover. Mods:
