There's no fuse. It's a relatively easy job. No experience read, but tiny hands will help. There's a bracket you should install behind the bumper to hold the lugs. Not critical, but I did it. I found that a philips head on fitted into a tiny adjustable ratchet spanner worked. Cost a tenner from a local tool shop. It's the sort where the hex head fits into the spanner. It needs to be thin. You'll see...
As soon as the kit is fitted, it works straight away using the power from the rear lights. PAGODA

OK, I get that there's no fuse block (ala D3), but the perm 12v to the trailer socket must be fused somewhere in the D4

dangerdave wrote:Pagoda is right. I didn't fit the plastic bracket, obviously my hands are bigger than his but then happened to visit SWMBO's cousin who has the local body shop and he did it for me. No charge!
I have a 4 year old son who likes to "help.". Probably child abuse these days, but the offer of a FAB lolly gets you more than you might think. Early LR owner in the making!!
PS - anyone remember FAB lollies? PAGODA

Are the rear sensors meant to disable when you plug in the trailer?
I just managed to have a set of 13 pin supplied fitted by the md for £140 but i dont think they have enabled them as the reversing sensors dont disable when you plug in the trailer (at least i dont think they do)

There should be no 'beeping' from sensors when trailer is attached Looks like they have not enabled it Cheers Ian

No they havent coded it in......
Parkng sensors come on when i put it in reverse (manual), however, its the only thing which doesnt work, fridge circuit works, atc engages, and all the lights come on when they should.
I realise that the inbuilt trailer stability wont be on and the sensors are annoying, but at least all functions seem to be, well, functioning......
