All tyres worn on inside edge

The two front tyres are badly worn and the back two don't look if they need replacing. My question is should I get the 4 wheel tracking done before fitting the new tyres or after?

Sorry I should have said that the garage that does the tracking and the tyre dealer are about 5 miles apart.

IT doesn't really matter as the alignment is based on the wheel rim not the tyre, just get it done before the new ones get scrubbed

Check that whoever you are using for the alignment knows how to do it on a Discovery, and has the kit to set the car up in "Tight Tolerance Mode".

Although I have a hawkeye to set my car to ttm
I've never used it
Just set the car at normal ride height, preferably with a full tank of fuel and leave the driver door ajar to stop the suspension settling as the adjustments are made.

Leaving tailgate open wont work, nor hazards on.

Thumbs Up

Not a problem. The garage was recommended by the local indie.

It's important you have a proper 4 wheel alignment completed using the proper alignment equipment.
There's a bit more to it than checking the tracking. Rolling Eyes
First off, most places don't have the proper alignment equipment so you need to make sure the place you take it can perform the correct full alignment.
Secondly, you may need to have the steering angle sensor recalibrated after the alignment to avoid a whole plethora of suspension related issues. Thumbs Up

Narpy Thumbs Up

If one is going to check the steering angle sensor (as one should) it makes sense to recalibrate it in any event.

The fact that the garage was recommended by the local indie, sadly doesn't guarantee that they have all the right kit, and the knowledge & experience to do this job. At the very least I would search the forum for threads on these topics, and ask searching questions.

Good luck.
