285 60 r18 will they fit

Hi

Will tyre size 285 60 r18 fit MY2006 D3, was thinking of either GG at2 or Falken Wildpeak AT.
Anybody any experience of the Falken, I have had AT2 before on a previous car but I believe they are no longer available in 255 60 r18, hence looking at a larger size.

Thanks
 Steve

They do fit. I have Coopers LTZ Zeon in that size. Some mods to wheel arch liners may be required if you get scrubbing on articulation.

One issue is that if you get a suspension fault and you drop to the bump stops, you may encounter some severe rubbing if you try and move it.

The second is (assuming you have a full size spare, and you'll need to if you want to fit a tyre with a larger overall diameter) you'll have fun getting a spare in the wheel bay fully inflated.

No experience of the Falken though, I only had some cheapo crappy brand on mine when I bought it.
