I am looking for a place to tie-in an always on 12v power source to power my rack mounted work light. I am planning on putting a switch in the cargo area.
I could tie into the lighter, but it needs ACC to work. I have heard you have to be careful where you connect as not to screw-up the computer.
Thanks,
David

use the trailer wiring, there's a unswitched +ve there
Oddly enough it is not a true 12V it is closer to 11.54v, which is not enought to drive the lamp. The AUX outlet in the back is 12.54v and works. For now I am using that with a switch in between. The only issue is that the key needs to be in and switched to ACC.David
