I think there is confusion here on the temperature that the FFBH will come on just to benefit the engine, which ISTR was <5oC, and the temperature it will come on for cabin comfort through timed or remote climate which is <15oC for warming ...+15oC for cool air.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I fail to see how using a 3.0 V6 to heat the car is an evolution. It’s not good for the engine or the environment. Also is it legal to leave it on a road. Running the a/c in summer is a nice benefit however!
OP, if you have fuel, a good battery and it’s cold enough, it should just work. I would take it back and get the settings checked. They could have easily missed something as there are a couple of different ones to set.
I often get in mine and have to open the window immediately as it’s uncomfortably warm if it’s had a full burn. I wouldn’t say it’s like warm.

Oh no, never on a road, just on the drive, but I rarely use it tbh. Never have to be anywhere, early enough to put it to good use.

I use it quite often in the D5 when the temps are at extremes ...getting into an ice cold or a nice warm & cosy motor is often very welcome.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I’m looking forward to setting the temperature in the FFRR from my phone. Same system as the D5?
I bet I forget I’ve got it though and never bother. 😆2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Hi all,
Up and working now.
Two things to probably note - as one person said it has to be pretty cold for the 'Timed Climate' to kick in when set on the timer. It did for me recently but it was around 6 degrees
Secondly, if you have a Bell Auto FBH Controller on a D4 with a Webasto Thermo Top V Heater up to MY2016 the "Timed Climate by Radio Software" activation on car must be already done. (as it says here!
https://bellautoservices.co.uk/store/fbhic...tracker/).
All is well now.
Thanks for the input previously people.

Good stuff, well done. Be interested to hear how 'toasty' you find it. Some people claim it gets the cabin really warm, mine only really takes the edge off and defrosts all the windows. It's certainly not a room-temp thing.D4 XS, gone, much loved, never forgotten

Ive just had mine enabled at the weekend, but only programmable off the screen (facelift 2011 XS)
ive set it come on at 0620hrs Mon-Fri and set the dual temp controls to 20deg
so far, after 2 mornings of use, ive come out the car to hear the FBH running, and got into the cab to see the 'auto' light on the climate control flashing.
the car has been noticably warmer than outside temperatures, which are currently <5deg for me. BUT... its only run for about 10 mins of the warming cycle, which is a non configurable maximum time of 20 min from the start time.
it will be a nice touch when the temperatures are regularly closer to freezing though 2011 D4 XS 305 MY12 - gone but not forgotten

Timed climate
Hi all,
If I have factory fitted timed climate control should I have a remote or if it was an extra, can I buy one and will it work.
It’s for a 2010 discovery 4 HSE.
Thanks. Now gone - D3 Zambezi silver. Smoked / limo windows, various LEDs, DVD in headrest screens. Side steps, GG AT's, software and Bluetooth upgrades by Bodsy.

You need a control receiver, antenna and remote plipper telestart t91
The receiver fits in the RHS REAR section behind the panel were the Jack is secured, the connector is small and wrapped in grey foam, this plugs into the receiver ( eBay is a good place to get one ) along with an antenna with a Fakra connector which plugs into the receiver
Then get the system turned on via the CCF using IID TOOL or Autologic and pair the remote ( inter web it ...dead easy)
You must have a good battery and at least 1/4 tank of fuel and <15’c
It sounds hard work but it’s not that bad,the rewards are a warm car in the winter and windows you can see out of
Good luck

Hi, so I’ve been using the single event timed climate on my, new to me, 2011 D4. It’s been around 0 degrees and the car has a decent coating of ice. I’ve found, after the heater has been on the, defrosting to be 2 patches on the windscreen and no noticeable difference to cabin temperature.
I’m guessing the heater should be defrosting it more than that?
