Swollen nuts!

A first for me today. Had two tyres fitted today and an advisory note that one wheel nut was "swollen due to corrosion, needs replacing"

Never heard of this before, has anyone else's nuts swollen? Shocked

Common on Landy''s and Rangy''s. Had to replace all on my D3 and most of them on my old P38. In fact I now keep some spare new ones

Advanced factors do them cheap enough.
 De-Tango
V8 Brakes
EGRs blanked
Running boards
3 flash indicators and clock on dash
Blingy grille...

As long as it's not about to drop off then I assume that it'll be fine for now?

Very common problem. I normally have to change them every 2 years or so.

Are there any alternative nuts that can be fitted to avoid the problem returning?
 10 D4 Bali Blue
FBH Controller
Goodyear Duratracs
raised air intake
30mm spacers all round

Yes you can buy Stainless steel nuts which won't corrode.
Pop over to the FF forum and do a search. i'm sure there was a group buy at some point.

Thumbs Up

Finally got sick of this and ordered a set from here:

http://www.wrington.co.uk/landrover%20alloy%20wheel%20nuts.html

They do polished, and matt ones cheaper.

Fast service and a quality product. Very happy.

Thumbs Up
