Sunroof seal
I have just fitted roof bars ready for the camping season!
And I had the sunroof open and I noticed the whole seal all the way round is completely split, no idea how its really water tight!!
Does anybody else have this issue?? I can't be the only one. The seal seems kinda bonded to the glass section, does anybody know a solution?

Does anybody else have this issue? Mine is a MY10?
Same age as mine and Luckily I've not got this. Looks like the seals stuck to the bodywork and then ripped when it opened - has it been shut for a long time before you opened it?

Its also on the sides, the rubber is very brittle so not sure its to do with when the sunroof was opened. I have had the car for 8 months and only just noticed it. I'm not sure the rubber can even be changed?
No worries chap Hope you get it sorted soon and without too much outlay.
A bit like bolting the stable after the event, but I've always been in the habit of putting a very light coating of silicon/white grease around all the door seals before the first frosts. I think i'll be adding the sunroof seal to that having seen yours.

Dont forget no sunroof seal totally seals the roof, it just stops the worst of it, the guttering and drains take car of the rest.

Pleeeease any advice.
please any advice.
Is this a known issue, can't believe I'm the only one.
Does anybody know if I can change just the seal, it seems fairly stuck on!
Or if I buy a 2nd hand sunroof, can I just change the glass or do I have to do the whole cassette?
Is it the same as a D3 or are there lots of different versions.

hi, perhaps a call to a JLR dealer would help? At least you'll know if the seal is replaceable.
Try one of the sponsors, either Duckworth parts or Yeovil land rover parts. Both have a reputation as good people to do business with.

I can't see this being caused by the rubber sticking, I doubt the roof would open if it was stuck all the way round it would trip out. I would take it up with Pete@LR, he's on this site.It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

That looks like its been attacked by something. If the seal is part of the glass, maybe your glass insurance will pay if its damaged? Worth a punt.

I agree, could someone have put oil on it, the rubber part looks bigger than on my D3 and oil perishes rubber and makes it swell. It can when others can't,

Thanks Guys!
I think I've found a 2nd hand sunroof on well known auction site which I'm going to get.
Does anybody know if the 3 and 4 share the same sunroof, I think they do as most of the listings say so.
It seems simple to just swap the glass, each side has 3 torx screws each........fingers crossed, I'll post when I've done it.
