Stopping struts extending

I'm swapping my lower suspension arms tomorrow, whats the best way keeping the struts from extending when you disconnect them please. I've removed fuse 29 when jacking the car up tonight in preparation for job tomorrow (and removed wheels) but suspension has dropped right down.

You can’t. They are an airbag, you take the load off they expand as far as they can.

The only option is to release all of the pressure. A visitor from the dark side, my other vehicle is an is still an EV. Strictly speaking its SWMBO.

Good luck!! Done mine this time 2 weeks ago, those rear bolts are a PITA Censored - I had it in access mode, then pulled the fuse so the strut/bag pressure was low enough to jack & lever the strut back up to the arm when putting everything back together.

Thanks.
To be honest it's taken me most of the day Sad The first side the two back bolts came out relatively easily, but the bottom shock mount bolt was seized solid. Took BIG hammer, long bar and lots of penetrating oil to finally free off.
The second side shock was okay, but one of the back bolts required recip saw and cutting off. So I've now got it all loosely put back together, ready for weight on and torquing up in the morning, then 4 wheel alignment on Monday.

As for the shocks, I let air out by slackening connectors on the front valve block Thumbs Up

The shocks are gas pressurised so will extend when lower bolt is removed, you could try a ratchet strap to hold it compressed.
