I think it depends on where you were going - if that country has closed its borders then you should be able to claim on insurance ( unless they weedle out of it by calling it an 'act of god' or some such bull$h!t). If you canx or just dont go then I think its down to you & all monies lost.

We’ve just binned a few grand worth of flights so we can fly back directly from Perth rather than come back through Bangkok & Singapore. If you’re still going just because you can’t get a refund think long and hard whether that’s wise. It’s only money.

My brother is due to go to NZ in early April for 3 weeks, but NZ Gov just announced two week self isolation for all new travelers I think from Sunday

He's not sure if he's covered yet with insurance, or if he should still go?

Valid questions Stew, but as already said, depends on your location and what's going on there. It's bound to change again within the next few days

Hope it works out Thumbs Up

One of my boys is/was go Poland at the end of the month, despite advice from his elders on not to travel, seems that he won’t be going now as it seems Poland is closing the doors. It is unclear at the moment if you land if you can leave.

Then looks like we’ll be claiming asylum in Aus. We love it here and quite happy to do our but to do our bit to keep the tourism economy going. Thumbs Up

Mind you, haven’t been able to get on the Qantas site for several hours. Could that be a sign. Shocked Shocked

Pretty soon it’s going to be “can I still get there” rather than “should I go”.

Hi,
we had our Cobra/crisis meeting yesterday (met friends for lunch in the pub Very Happy )

should be going to Italy in 7 weeks time, cancelled the digs today for full refund (allowed Abnb)

flights will have to wait and see £105 for both of us and £25 parking may get back but not worth the risk

Tintent in April still going ahead Thumbs Up

Looking at that map of where flights turned round ... I previously thought planes carried enough to get there plus a contingency amount. As some of them look like they'd almost reached Spain I'm guessing I'm wrong?
