Smart key not detected
Evening folks, issue with my Disco I wonder if anyone recognises.
Drove to work the other morning and all was fine. On parking up pressed the fob to lock the car.
Did hard days graft and when I went back to the car, noticed it wasn't locked.
Jumped in, foot on the brake and pressed the start and nothing but a message saying ' smart key not detected'.....
Had a flick through the book and started the car as per page 79
Car ran fine, but no speedo and rev counter or display in the binnacle and no heater/climate control.
Assuming the fob battery had given up, tried the wife's key, but no change.
Local garage visjt resulted in a mechanic scratching his head and sucking air through his teeth!
I have a 10 plate Discovery 4 GS auto.
Anyone had this issue??

Thanks for the suggestions guys!
I left the battery on charge for 24 hours and then did a hard reset.
This seems.to have resolved all the symptoms, although I've now got an engine management light on and heavy steering.....weird!
Suspect the battery may have been the root cause all along though!?
