Had 2nd service in Feb this year at 11200 , getting service due warnings this week (now at 16300) , rang dealer who suggested its oil dilution (as they have had a few) .
Booked in for next week , had the same with the DS which had a oil/filter change under warranty .

I noticed the message came up quickly when starting over the weekend on our D4 66 plate.
Only bought it end of June. Done only 3k miles since then, having been serviced.
Getting it booked in ASAP.

Well its booked in for its 32k service as that is due.....on its service plan 😓
Firmware update was mentioned but timings relate to its service being due.
Joys of purchasing mid year
Also chased on LR Experience vouchers......and no our vehicle hasn't been updated with our details from dealer hence no vouchers sent

As it is no longer under LR warranty I got a local garage the family have used for over 20 yrs to do a mid year oil/filter change (3000 mls since last service) .
He drained the sump and charged £55 labour , the main dealer wanted £250 with me supplying the parts .
Never thought about resetting service message . Is that something I can do ?

RDR wrote:my MY16 is doing this, everyso often you catch a Service message on the dash. Also if I'm booting it "low coolant" flashes up on occasion when its not low at all
You need a new header tank. the float becomes saturated, quite common and cheap to fix, although I had mine done on used approved warranty, I'm sure if you get them to look at it you will be able to get them to pay..
Do a search, there's plenty about this issue on here.. it's fine to live with if you need to wait, as long as you're confident that the coolant level is indeed ok.. Disco4 MY16 SDV6 Landmark Black

Searching this forum I found a few references for doing it. The link to the one below may work on yours, but if not search again.
https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/resetting-s...+indicator
I mention this, because mine came up with a very early service required message out of the blue at a strange time, dealer investigated and advised it was because the service indicator had not been reset. I can’t remember the circumstances, but it made sense as it was reset at the previous service around 13 months before hand ( so would have been due on a calendar basis). They explained that sometimes when they go through the reset procedure is doesn’t work and if it’s not coming up with the message at the time they do it, I don’t know how they would know it hasn’t ( although you would hope there is a check !)
Haven’t used the main dealer where I had this issue again. It may be that some of your previous early service required messages have been caused by this ‘quirk’.
Let us know how you get on. Good luck
Cheers Gary

Thanks Gary will have a read at that link , the message isn't there all the time and I've only noticed it twice recently , the dealer said it was due to oil dilution earlier this year , so not overly worried with having fresh oil in last week .
Going to see if I can find an independant LR garage for its next service in the new year .
