| Service recommendations in Glasgow? |
|
Fast approaching 2year/32000mile service and was wondering if anyone could recommend a decent garage in or near Glasgow that use genuine LR parts, etc. Bought second hand from Shields but naturally reticent to have them s£rvic£ it.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

strathearn at near perth or if you want main dealer, Parks in Ayr are usually cheapest.  Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Having bought a used D3 HSE from Parks in Ayr I'd never go back and would advise folks to steer well clear of them!! I'm going to Taggarts in Maryhill Road now and have no cause to complain.

You will find them awful expensive, even compared to their other branch. They quoted me over £1300 for the 105k service! Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Strathean's a bit of a trek, any suggestions for west of Glasgow. I thought maybe Taggarts were reasonable for your average dealer.

Taggarts = Average in all respects in the service dept!!, mind you, this rating well exceeds the sales dept, they are just plain dire !! There are 10 types of people in this world ~ those that understand binary and those that don't.

I've heard nothing but good things about Strathearn, but never used them myself as it is a bit of a trek.
How urgently do you need the service?
euangibson organised a "Scottish Tour" with Ian from offroad essentials last year (in Sept) - he worked on my wife's D3 at her work and I payed by card over the phone. If he hadn't moved the car (and fitted an FBH timer  ) she wouldn't even have known he'd been. Can't fault him on this experience.

Can't complain about Taggart Motherwell. Always been good with me and easy to deal with.
Plus you get a discounted labour rate if the vehicle is over 4 years old, I think the age is.. ATB
