Hmm, a bit nonplussed about the satnav data that my two-week old D3 has. Fair enough, I suppose, that the new bit of the A1(M) at Wetherby is not on, as it's only been open for a few months, but I've already found another gap - the new A830 between Arisaig and Mallaig has been there for years.
Anyone else discovered patches of missing information in the navigation? Have I been given an old disk? Has anyone ever asked about the frequency/cost of updated data?

To be fair, most GPS mapping data has bits missing...I sometimes find that, according to my Tomtom 700, I'm driving across a field 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I was just a bit disappointed that the LR satnav info is already this out of date. I *think* the Tomtom software I got for my pda (about a year ago) had both the old and new sections of A1 around Pontefract, and did some fancy switch when the new bit opened. Not sure if it was date-based or what, but it impressed me, anyway. Tomtom doesn't know about the A1 by Wetherby, either.
So the other question - has anyone ever asked their dealer about satnav updates?

By the way, this subject has enabled me to take my spoddery to new heights, and tonight I have a new favourite web site (after this one, of course!)
http://www.cbrd.co.uk/
Chris's British Road Directory. Marvellous.

Just got my D3 and I am having a problem with the navigation not sure if this is related to missing info - I cannot search for a destination using postcode or road name in the Channel Islands.
It works fine with a mainland postcode.
I can select a destination from the map or grid coord's...all road names and road numbers appear at the bottom of the screen when you are driving so the information is on the disk.
Can anyone try a destination search with postcode JE2 6LF and see if it works on your system
I am of to check the version on the disk. 2012 D4 - SDV6 XS - Firenze Red

You have got it on the correct country setting, if it is for instance set as France it will only do French postcodes, but will know where it is still. DS3 TDV6 HSE - Silver with Alpaca (old one) Gone
DS3 TDV6 HSE- Silver with Alpaca (new one) Gone
D4 HSE Lux - Montalcino Red Gone

Tried to navigate to JE2 6LF and you are correct, it is not in the database.
Jersey and the other Channel Islands appear to be on the map but no data is indexed. It will not even let you enter any postcode starting J, nor does it recognise any towns villages or streets.
If I lived in the Channel Islands I would be very miffed. I wonder what the dealer has to say about it? (not that they can do anything, but they should point it out to a potential CI customer in advance of sale)
