Safety Belt alarm (disabled)

A very good safety device, but the beeping is so annoying (eg when moving a trailer around & need to take safety belt off).
But it can be disabled! Wink the same system as applies to Fords works - simply turn ignition on then rapidly (within 1 min) put the safety belt in & out of the clip 9 times! On the 9th time the safety belt light will stay on for a while & then after that you still get the safety belt light but not the "beep" One caution... I don't yet know how to re-enable the "beep" Shocked

I wonder if Martin could set up a new section that only he copies into with these sort of items "Tips & Tricks" or something like that? Could be quite useful as a quick reference with the various useful Tips of the Week postings there have been Very Happy

Good idea. I have heard from my Suzuki dealer by the way, that the rights to service will be changing soon and they are applying to get LR's in for service. If so we will definately have someone who knows what he is doing. He was a LR dealer then went to Suzuki when BMW got involved because of the mess up. He is also a great man on development and rolling roads. He cannot wait to get at the software.

If disabling the seat belt warning is that easy, then there surely must be a way of disabling the caution screen on the sat nav. One day someone will find a way I am sure.

Perhaps we need a volunteer to try opening & closing their drivers door x times with the ignition on Wink

Brilliant... thank god for the Scots Smile

One other annoying feature of the seat belt bleep is if you accidentally press the passenger seat down when picking up a map book or some such thats on the seat (yeah yeah yeah... I have no sat nav... I am a poor person in an 'S'). A slight push on the passenger seat cushion causes the bleep... took me a while to work out what was going on. As soon as you release the pressure and look at the dash / message centre to see why the car is bleeping at me it stops...

And yes... the American stylee beeping for just about everything in the car is bloody annoying. Ignition key beep is the most annoying !

Unlike many forgetful nations... I as a Brit I never forget to put on my belt, take out the key when security matters etc etc. Be great if this feature worked on rows 2 and 3 so you KNOW the kids are belted up.

Knowing how careful you chaps oop North are... I am surprised you don't use the seat belt to protect your pie 'n' chips !

Whilst your on the subject of sheep. I used to drive a Disco 2, which was originally supplied by a dealer in Herefordshore (near Shropshire init??) and the spare wheel cover had a big picture of a sheep, and "Land Rover - Best of Breed"

Took it off rather smartish.
