Safari 4x4 Snorkel for D3

At last I've seen it in the plastic.

This was seen at the ARB stand at a local 4WD shown in Melbourne Australia this weekend. It is still not on the market yet but is not far away now for the poeple who want a Safari snorkel over the LR one. Not that you can get either in Australia yet.

The snorkel is mounted using a bracket fixed to the 'A' pillar (see pic below). The plastic cover on the 'A' Pillar has been slotted for the bracket. I cannot see how the snorkel is fixed to the guard but I suspect it is bolted to it like the LR version.

The snorkel is one piece except for the air intake which is fixed by a clamp. It is not as integrated as the LR one near the air intake.

Comments from the guys who have the LR one. Which do you prefer and why?

I guess it's personal taste. The G4 version is less "in your face" and looks cleaner.

Snorkel

The L R one is better i am pleased that igot one you can remove it if you do not want it on only two holes to plug up when not in use the theird hole on the window piller just blends in.

I'm with RLD on this one, the LR snorkel suits the vehicle better and has a matt finish.
 In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I prefer the Safari one for looks, how easy is it to remove the LR one if you were to sell the car?

I had the windscreen replaced the other day. I removed the snorkel to make it easier for the fitters. It took about 3 minutes. If I was to sell the car without the snorkel I would have to replace the black plastic trim that covers the pillar, and get 2 black plugs to insert into the captive nuts above the air intake.
 In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I can see why you prefer the LR one. I have always fancied a snorkel but thought it would affect resale, this sounds like the best of both worlds. But I still prefer the look of the safari Laughing
