Update - the car went in yesterday for a number of warranty items (nothing major) and was returned with brand new discs and locking nuts without a murmor of a quibble.

Thought I would just open this old thread. I sent my 2015 D4 with 2500 miles on the clock back to the dealer today for the s/w recall update. I added a few minor warranty issues including the rusty hubs. We got into a bit of a "discussion" about whether rust should be appearing at such an early stage. His response was "I've seen no bulletins from LR and they all do it". He even said he was ooking at a new Disco in the showroom and this also had signs of rust on the hub! So, this was the justification for doing nothing!! How apalling to refer to a default on a new car and suggest that if the new car has it then it's OK!
I really object to shelling out for a £58k car with fancy, open-spoked wheels that are ruined by a cheap rusty and highly visible hub. I suppose I will go down the QD90 or Hammerite route but it leaves a really bad taste!D4 HSE MY2015

Agreed. It is one of the bad points. Mine is a white car, with gloss black wheels and now the disks are looking really shocking. The disks will be due for replacement soon, and I will do them myself. I will give them some decent paint before I fit them. Probably do them gloss black to match the wheels.
Its a shame, when the rest of the car is ageing so well.

It does spoil the look of the car and I've had a few comments about mine whilst people have been otherwise admiring it. Ho-hum!

Now, here's a result! Dealer has told me to get them re-painted and he will pay! So, any suggestions as to where I could get this done with the correct paint? It would need to be within 50 miles of Cambridge.

I have seen brand new cars Germans like VW , Americans cars with the same issue and they still in the show room, that specific part is made of cast iron and its kind of normal to see surface rust on it due to high carbon
just no need to worry about thatsami

I do see the point, we're talking here about a new vehicle costing £40,000 and upwards. Surely they can keep the rust at bay for the first couple of years of the cars life at least. Jim
