Hi All

Back from Nam/Bots/Zim and car was faultless . Consumption got a bit scary at times (with the trailer) but the car was absoulutely awsome in the sand/mud . Will post a full trip report soon

Welcome back Heine !

Can you give an indication of the "scary consumption". Will be in Mabuasehube area (thick sand and trailer) at end of April and need to decide how many jerry cans diesel to take.

Heine

Did you take "holiday kit" with you ?

I was at LR Sandton last week to order one plus 2nd spare wheel and got those glazed looks like a dog cr Censored ping on the lawn Question

Eventualy phoned Riaan the parts manager to remind him of our meeting with them last year and he will put something together.

Any news on the diesel filter and testing kit ?

Took nothing but Sat phone and fuel filter Whistle . My comsumption averaged out to about 6.5 km /l . But I do have a heavy foot and was using cruise control in normal auto mode . I found that this tended to leave the car in 5th gear . I then started using command shift and making sure that car stayed in 6th gear . At about 110 km/h this is just under 2000 rpm . Consumption then up to about 7 km/l which I thought was good enough for my driving style

2007 TDV6 HSE , only had the passenger side lock replaced , nothing serious. 38000km already. Factory fitted tyres not fit for dirt roads (lost 1) and offroad height restriction of 40kph is irretating. Own a sat phone so I always just take it with when going into the no-gsm areas.
