Rear Diff lock
as i am still finding things to play with on my D3, the 4x4 info is showing me both green symbols for both the center diff lock and the rear one, the question is does it still show the green symbol if the rear diff lock has not been fitted , or does the fact that it is there means it is fitted Tintenter

Sorry, I have to agree, having the light does not always fitment.
This changed sometime in the last twelve months (I think), the Land Rover product portfolio (our internal reference material) still shows the 4x4 screen without the rear diff symbol, but all of the cars we have had recently all show the rear diff symbol regadless of specification.
Hope that helps...

Can it be retrofitted yet??? Sure I read (on a few threads here) it couldn’t be, although last time I was at my Stealer they [senior mechanic] seemed to think it was – just that nobody had asked…… yet.D3 HSE V8...

I'm in the reverse situation. I had the locking diff fitted, but not 4x4i. Anyone know if there is a way to tell when the diff is locked?

Nope. Have faith that the computers are doing what they should be.

If you take a look through the right rear wheel arch (just in front of the wheel) you should see the actuator motor with the silver (aluminium) casting and cover plate for the "diff lock". If you do not have the motor assembly you do not have the "diff lock". You will notice the farside wheel is partialy visible (top third boundry of pic).

If you keep moving forward when logic tells you should be stuck, your diff is working
