I have used premium diesel and it appeared to have a little more power and run smoother.

Thanks for all your replies. I'll let you know in a couple of months when I've run my experiment, how I got on.

IMHO Shell VPower diesel made a difference I could feel ito power delivery ... well unless it was my butt dyno needing recalibration. That said my car is "Chipped" so perhaps the fuel and the tune blend better?
But honestly I felt a difference and my wife commented too that the car felt "better" (Erm... its her car actually). MPG ? who knows I doubt it would be a material difference.

For the record -
Cheaper fuel always made my D3 and now my D4 'rattle' more
Shell V Power was great and a really smooth drive that others who ride in the car all the time commented on
Shell station near me closed so I got converted to the 2stroke solution and I am finding it is defo smoother with it than without it... if it actually does any other good god only knows!
I have been assured I can't do any damage by using cheap and nasty mineral 2 stroke in my tank so while I can be bothered I do and I seem to notice the difference when I dont.
