So LRA have been and are away to get a replacement Mass Airflow Sensor. Its showing as 1 failed. Here's hoping the local dealer really do have it in stock.

Hopefully they tested it at sensor level, rather than relying on a diagnostic tool alone.

I certainly hope they have one and get your sorted out.
As has been said, they do pick their moments, mine waited until I had hitched my boat up before refusing to start.
Although I shall see your Discovery problems and raise you wife mechanical problems!
We are off on holiday in a few hours and yesterday evening we went for a walk and she fell over when stepping down a bank, thankfully after a trip to A&E nothing broken but on crutches, so a cottage with a spiral staircase is looking problematic
At least the Discovery proved useful as able to drive it over some large stones to stop cars so that I could get a little closer and then on the way to the hospital it takes speed cushions so much better at speed! Andy

Robbie,
Out of interest and increasing knowledge why would you recommend testing the sensor directly if the diags show stuck values on the MAF and the DTC is thrown?

Yep plan is to leave tonight 6 pm overnight to Dover 1st stop Reims then onto Switzerland. Bit of a trek from way up North but looking forward to it in the D4. Did South of France a few years ago in a Seat Alhambra and that was good fun, With the D4 being several classes above the Seat i'm looking forward to it.

The diagnostic code cannot be trusted on its own as it can be triggered by a variety of things and may also be spurious. Live data stuck at a value (as in this case) is a much better indication of a poorly MAF but it could also be a wiring problem or (rarely) an issue with the PCM. Testing at the sensor level would confirm the health, or otherwise of the MAF, wiring & PCM.
