So many possibilities...... Too many things to list them all....
Plenty of fishing on the river Nidd - I'm not a fisherman, so can'thelp with more details than that.
Loads of walking. All of the Yorkshire Dales within easy reach. Scar House reservoir just up the road. How Stean George or Stump Cross Caverns to explore.
Good restaurants / pubs including Boar's Head at Ripley, Yorke Arms at Ramsgill, Sportsman's Arms at Wath.
Shopping in Harrogate, Leeds, York, Skipton, Ripon.
Castles in Knaresborough and Ripley.
Big rocks at Brimham Rocks.
Loads of mountain biking. A few easy green lanes.
Main LR dealership in Ripon for when you break down. MY2022 D5 HSE D300 - with extra nice bits added
MY2019 D5 HSE 3.0 SDV6 - sold to a dealer for a crazy price! - So good I bought another!

Superb pork pie shop in Ripon town centre just opposite the entrance to the car park in the middle of the town square
Fountgain Abbey is also in the area, although last time I was there it was for a wedding and can't really remember too much about it Currently 2009 Disco 3 SE, 2013 MY D4 HSE and 2016 D4 SE

What sort of things do you want to do?
There's plenty of sheep
You could go to the Black Sheep brewery in Masham.......... That could take up at least a whole day to check it out properly
Royal Armouries in Leeds is worth a visit if you get down that way.
Horse racing in Wetherby.
Pot holes to explore.
Hire a canal boat in Ripon and go for a cruise.

I was lucky enough to have been stationed at Dishforth Airfield in the early nineties. SWMBO and I loved it. Wish we could afford to go back and live there Lovely part of the country, just enjoy it.

If you fancy going under ground, there is Stump Cross Caverns, or if heading towards Masham to the Black Sheep brewery, you could also visit the Theakstone Brewery. Do both in one day and sleep it off on a bench. (Its a pastime of us Scots).
You could pop over to Skipton for a day. Nice market town, loads of nice pubs with good food, and a castle thrown in as well.Man with no D3 anymore, but cant leave the forum....how sad.
Fountgain Abbey is also in the area, although last time I was there it was for a wedding and can't really remember too much about it
Including the name Must have been a good wedding
Fountains Abbey Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills

Have you got Kids ?
How Staen gorge as said above and camp site / caravan site there is great and the pub in the village is great !
Foods really good there too
You have to visit the shop opposite the ickle Vauxhall garage !
The bakery at the back sells cake & pies !
The most important thing in there is a delicacy called Tiffin ! It is Divine !
About 2" wide and 6" long !
Great with a pot of Yorkshire T !
Up the hill on the right there's a fantastic butchers that sells GOod Pork Pies
There's Brimham rocks not far away which is National Trust and its definately worth a visit as is Fountains Abbey !
Enjoy

Thanks for the tips,
Any pot holes, gorges are out due to having a dog with us,
No kids, bonus
Hill walking, The Crown in Middlesmoor in the evenings, the owner Malcolm is good fun depending if your not easily offended. A bit touring about if needs must.
And if time permits a spot of fishing.
Been to black sheep and theakstones brewery's before so no need to go back.
Might try Brimham rocks and Coldstone cuts,
Also give the butchers a go as well as the tiffin
Thanks
