French Camping pricing
Is it just me or are French campsites horrendously expensive?
Checking out prices for us to take tin tent for 2-3 weeks in Summer....er...WOW!
Bit more prices than the £20/night UK one's!! MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

Thinking about taking the kids and dog down to a site so needs to have plenty to do for 17yo (kayaking and biking plus pool should do that), 7 yo animals, slides, playgrounds, 2 yo generally the dog keeps her entertained!
For me dog + nearby croissants + beer plus somewhere to go running
Missus? Well there's looking after us lot for starters
Thinking I'm not going to get much change out of about £2k by the time I factor in fuel, crossing etc., - even the site for 2 weeks seems to be a grand or more.MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

A grand or more for the pitch! What extras do you get for this sort of money? Presume Venessa Paradis comes round every night to baby sit & you get to drive her home in the disco?

Ours is e26 per night inc 6A electric
With an Tesco EuroTunnel, 1800 mile round trip and 2 weeks it works out at just over a grand all in.

Maybe I was reading it wrong but was basing it on one of the kid-friendly sites listed on this thread which had rather impressive facilities.
e1200 for 2 weeks seems expensive to me bearing in mind you're towing your accommodation MY15 DIY Black Pack (Better than factory and half the price!)

Newton East Farm Pembrokeshire, a 3 acre site but they let you over all the farm. Fantastic wildlife, surfing nearby at Newgale, Coasteering, Kayaking, fishing run by Richard & Elizabeth James.
We use another nice one near Seaton Junction, East Devon, that is £5 or £6pn with electricity, a 4 acre field near Lyme Bay Cider. For half terms we use a CL in the New Forest as we take my daughter's pony with us; that costs £13pn including electricity and is about 2 acres.
I guess its horses for courses, I hate commercial sites with all the rules and regulations. I don't need shower blocks, playgrounds or club houses; just nice walks for the 4 dogs and outside activities. For a summer holiday, as long as sun isn't a must have, Pembrokeshire can't be beaten. Think of Cornwall without the crowds and where you can park all day for a couple of quid.
