Passengr locked ..Help?
Help! The passenger door doesnt open . Tried locking, unlocking cycles , both key and and panels on the dash . Nothing.
Everything else locks and unlocks as normal.
When unlocked, the little tab on the passenger door handle remains flush.
Is this a mechanical fault or am I missing something obvious!!Don't put it off, go for it!

I had this a while back. Took car to dealer who sat in the driver's seat repeatedly pressing the unlock button on the key fob while operating the interior passenger door handle. It worked for the dealer. Problem has since ocurred only once - but the "fix" worked for me also.

Hooray! your fix worked, thanks John O.
I did what you described, ie pressing unlock on the key fob and moving the handle togther or in quick succession; after about 6 times the door finally opened. It now seems to work OK back to normal.
That definitely saved me a trip to the dealers!
But, a bit worrying that it developed in the first place, as I don't think we did anything to cause it??Don't put it off, go for it!

Good news.
When I took mine to the dealer they said, "We've had two or three do that and so we ordered in a couple of door locks - but nobody has been back with a repeat problem."
I probably will go back if it happens again, but at the moment I have experienced it twice in the space of two weeks - but that was over six months ago.
Happy to report, that this has been the biggest fault I have had with the vehicle to date (9 months and 11,000 miles).

I had this. Only way to open mine was to press unlock on the dash (repeatedly) while someone either pulled the handle inside, or opened it from the ouside. The dealer replaced the latch.Disco 5 HSE Lux

My wife's S did the same on Saturday, couldn't get in passanger side front door after unlocking with the fob. At the next stop it it unlocked when the central locking unlocked all the doors. Then (me in front) it wouldn't unlock without numerous presses of various locking/unlocking buttons. The sound of the locking mechanism is rough so might still have an issue, off to the stealer again!
VA, where have you been hiding??? Very quiet on the Surrey Front these days!

. the door lock passenger side "freezeup" happened again, straightaway next day ie this morning.
This is really awkward trying to drop someone off at the kerbside, had to switch off engine and frantically start pressing the keyfob. It worked after a few presses, again.
So, my confidence in this otherwise remarkable machine, has been dented.
Do you think I should get it checked out by a "stealer" to quote DSL?
Also "very annoyed" (why?) your picture is certainly eye catching!Don't put it off, go for it!

Just got back from the dealer. On the failing to unlock side (front pasasanger door) they can not find a fault. What it does now do is refuse to open using the inside handle after it has "on the move" locked itself. You either have to unlock itself using the button or remove the key. A right royal pain in the ar5e if someone is jumping out to open a gate or guide you back. It definately was not doing this prior to it "failing" on Saturday. Anyone else had this problem or know a cause???

My passenger door lock seems to be working normally again.
In reply to DSL above, for what its worth, when mine wasnt working the key fob was the only way to free it up, as the unlock button on the dash had no effect. So I agree entirely, it is very inconvenient (expletives etc) when it goes wrong. Wife glaring on the outside and kids yelling on the inside adds to the ambience I find! Don't put it off, go for it!

shocking
hello again DSL & friends. This is statistically significant given that only x% of owners will look at this site. Have any of you got onto LR about this at a national level? Shouldn't this become a 'known issue'?Never assume.
